The Word Today

Genesis 1:1-2 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. When God is at work in your life, your destiny is sure to end on a positive note.

One thing worthy of note from our text is that although the earth after creation was shapeless and dark, the Spirit of God was still moving in the midst of it, the darkness could not hinder His movement. This is to show us that no matter how dark things may be around you now, the Spirit of God will always know the way around. All you need to do is let Him lead you and you’ll soon see yourself moving with the speed of light even in very thick darkness. Isaiah 60:1-3; Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee for, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee and the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.

The bible says darkness and light are the same with our God, that’s why we are commanded to arise in the midst of darkness. So no matter how dark, bleak or unattractive your future may look, with the help of God’s spirit you can go through to the bright side of life. People who carry the Spirit of God in their inside cannot be overshadowed by the works of darkness. With God’s Spirit we will always conquer them.


This month, as you desire more of God’s Spirit in your inside you will defeat every work of darkness around you in Jesus name.
