Today's Word

TODAY’S WORD: 6th August, 2016
Acts 8:31
And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.
I heard the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, a prestigious father in the Lord, Pastor E. A. Adeboye say last year during one of the meetings in the redemption camp with millions of worshippers in attendance that he’s one of the richest men on earth if not the richest. This is what he said further to explain his wealth: he said if he stood on the altar to say he needed shoes to wear, he knew millions of different kinds of shoes would be delivered at his door step the following day.  This is the point he was making; because of his evangelistic work, millions have come to know Jesus and this automatically endears him to them and cause people to favour him even when he has not ask for anything.
Reading Acts 8:27-31 where our text is from, you’ll see that the Ethiopian eunuch was a very great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians that came to worship in Jerusalem. A man so high riding in his chariot invited Phillip a commoner to come sit with him in his exalted chariot. This happened to Phillip because of the evangelistic effort he engaged himself with.
Acts 2:46-47; And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. Child of God, preaching the gospel brings you into favour with God and endears you to men. Plunge into irrecoverable blessing, be an incurable soul winner. Win a soul this season. God bless you.

US Congresswoman wants Psychiatric evaluation of Donald Trump.

Rep. Karen Bass created a Change.org petition because she believes Trump
has Narcissistic Personality Disorder.Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s mental health (or lack thereof) has been discussed and speculated about by the media plenty of times. Now one politician wants an official diagnosis.
Karen Bass, a Democratic congresswoman representing California, launched her social media-friendly “#DiagnoseTrump” petition on Change.org earlier this week. It currently has just under 15,000 signees.
The petition makes the case that Trump fits all nine criteria to diagnose someone with Narcissistic Personality Disorder (only five are needed), making him unfit to lead the country.
“It is entirely possible that some individuals with NPD can successfully function in many careers,” Bass writes. “But not the Presidency of the United States.”
Responses to the petition have been… varied. Advocates for the mentally ill are, understandably, not pleased to be associated with Trump in this manner or to have their mental issues reduced to political weapons. Also, people with Narcissistic Personality Disorder probably don’t appreciate being told that they are unfit to rule.

It's NOT because they're actually concerned about potential presidents' MH. It's bc they're weaponizing ableist bigotry against Trump.

The Word Today

Today's word is from Psalm 118:5-7
The psalmists called upon God in times of distress and he answered. When God is on your side, you need not fear.Man can not do anything to you.
In that time of distress when you're racking your head thinking about a solution just pause a while and call upon him and he will answer you.He did not fail in the past,he's surely not going to fail you now.

The Word Today

In the book of John 2:1-11,we see Jesus in a marriage in Cana of Galilee perform the miracle of turning water into wine.At that marriage the bridegroom had no wine to serve the guests. When it was time for refreshment Jesus asked for what was available (water) and he turned it into wine.Good quality wine!
Sometimes we overlook what we have at hand, but that is what God needs to turn your story to glory.
Forget about the past, hold on to what you have at hand and look up to the hills from where your help comes.!

Super Eagles Still Stranded in Atlanta

With just a few hours to Super Eagles' first match in the Rio 2016 summer Olympics,Nigerian Football Federation is yet to sort out issues with the charter flight for the team.As at the time of this post, the team is still in Atlanta.
This goes to show how much Nigeria longs for gold medals. When some teams have arrived Rio for days now,our footballers are still in Atlanta because we cannot settle airline issues.
I wonder when they will arrive(if they will still go)or probably when NFF finally settles the pending issues Japan will already be waiting for the super eagles in the field. *mtchew.
