The Word Today

Genesis 1:1-2 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. This is how the amplified version puts Genesis 1:2; the earth was without form and an empty waste, and darkness was upon the face of the very great deep.

 The Spirit of God was moving (hovering, BROODING) over the face of the waters. This version said the Spirit of God was BROODING over the surface of the earth. When a typical poultry bird lays eggs, it sits on them (brood) for 21 days before they hatch. From the first day the hen starts sitting on the eggs till the last day nothing changes when you look at the eggs. The eggs do not grow in size or even change colour on the surface but one thing is sure, something is happening inside. Inside the egg, life is forming and at the appointed time the life emerges.

 Are you feeling emptiness all around you? I see, life emerging from your emptiness this week in Jesus name. Romans 4:17; (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

 Today, as you invite the Spirit of God into your heart the things that were dead and empty will receive life. Pray with me: Father, I pray that every emptiness and deadness in my life receives divine life by the brooding power of the Holy Ghost in Jesus name.
