Mariah Carey Splits from Billionaire Fiance James Packer

Mariah Carey's dramatic split from billionaire James Packer is getting very messy. The couple have not seen each other in over a month after a fight while on a romantic European vacation, her spokesperson has said.

The pair's engagement unraveled during a stay on a luxury yacht in Greece in September. TMZ reports James, 48, allegedly did 'something really bad' that involved Mariah's assistant and there are other allegations about his behaviour.

Her spokesperson has denied speculation the split was over infidelity and insists the 46-year-old singer's excessive spending was not to blame. 'Mariah and James had a fight in Greece, and have not seen each other since. The fight was not because of any cheating allegations or excessive spending by Mariah,' her spokesperson told ET exclusively.

'James is one of the most successful businessmen in the world. They are trying to work it out. Right now, they're not sure if they will stay together. They are discussing it, and plan to release an official statement together about their future.'

James did not attend Mariah's Halloween party over the weekend, where the star was seen posing for photos with ex Nick Cannon and their children.

There has been much speculation about the cause of the split, with TMZ initially claiming that the R&B diva had some sort of rendezvous with one of her dancers during her Las Vegas residency. Allegations have since been made about his conduct on their Greece trip, which his camp have branded 'simply untrue'.

The news comes after Mariah announced the cancellation of most of her South American tour, earlier this week. The Hero songstress revealed she was 'devastated' at the outcome and took to Twitter on Tuesday to share a link to her official statement to E! News.

'To all of my lambs in South America, I am devastated that a portion of this tour had to be cancelled. Thank you for all of the excitement and love - I hope to see you soon, my darlings!' she said. Mariah also shared an impassioned message on Twitter, writing: 'Devastated my shows in Chile, Argentina & Brazil had to be cancelled. My fans deserve better than how some of these promoters treated them .
