The Word Today
Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Having absolute faith in a person’s word will mean you obeying without thinking about or challenging instructions from such a person. You can’t say you have faith in God when you delay in carrying out His instructions. As soon as God gives a word of instruction, you need to carry it out as a sign of your absolute faith in Him. Hebrews 1:1 says; Now faith is, not later, faith is now. When you can recognize His voice, don’t question or wait for the next second before you act. Our father Abraham in the book of Genesis 12: 1-3 obeyed God without questioning when God told him to leave his family and his home to a land he did not even know about. The bible says he left without knowing where he was going; not knowing what he would meet there. If you say you have faith in God you will not ask a thing whenever you hear Him speak to you before obeying.
Is God asking you to take up a project and you don’t know how the money for the execution is going to come, never worry, show your faith by obeying Him. Don’t delay; start now, the grace to complete was given even before the project was given.
A man visited the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God at the redemption camp in Lagos Nigeria. At that time the church had need of money to complete a portion of the church building. The man of God asked this man to bring a particular amount for the building; the man even when convinced deferred the payment till the following day. When he eventually came with the money, the pastor refused to collect it from him saying that 30 minutes after he left God brought someone else that brought the exact amount he was asked to bring. Pray with me: My Father and my God please help me to recognize your voice when you speak to me and give me grace to obey without delay in Jesus name.
